Wind Ghost – One of the real ghost stories in English

Ziedane couldn’t sleep that night. It was Thursday night. People believe that that night the soul of dead humans came home. Ziedane covered all his body with a blanket and tried to close his eyes, but he couldn’t. He put his head under his pillow, but it couldn’t help. He sat down and look outside through the window.

The wind blew the leaves. Its shadow was moving on the ground. None but the lonely dog near the gate. He remembered his friends’ story at school about the ghost that came home every Thursday night. He was wondering whether they came to his house that night. He ran and turned on the light. His friend said that the ghost appears only in the darkness.

The light turned off. “Blackout...!!” he shouted.

The dog was barking. He breathed faster. His body was sweating. He stared at every corner.  He jumped up on his bed and covered his body with his blanket. He tried to sleep, but he couldn’t. Then, He felt like someone blew his head. He ignored it, but it was getting faster and faster.

“Ghooooooost....!!” he shouted and jumped.

His parent got up and ran to his room. “Ziedane...!! What’s going on...?!”

Tiger Real Ghost Stories in English

This story happens in my country Indonesia, exactly in East Java. I live in a small village. Before 1999 we lived without electric power. We just used candles and some traditional light at night. The population of people was still very small. There were only a few houses. With such darkness, the supernatural creatures had many places to stay with us.

The very popular ghost at that time was Tiger. This was not the tiger story 2020, it was a ghost story. In many places, pocong was more popular than others, but not in my village. Tiger was a real popular ghost in this village. People were familiar with them. Even some of them were not afraid anymore as too many times confronted with such ghosts. However, some told that certain tiger ghosts were so dangerous. They often attacked people.

Some people said it was not a real ghost which attacked people as a ghost couldn't touch the human body but it was human, someone who had magical power and transformed as a tiger. People called it "Macan Gedungan". Macan means tiger, gedungan means not original. Such magical power also popular in this region, not only in my village. My neighbor told one day her experience traveling to far distance with such a tiger. That was amazing, huh...!

Some Ghost tigers didn't attack humans. They just played in the darkness. Some, mostly children, were very scared of such ghosts. “I was walking alone that night and brought a flashlight in my hand. It was so dark there, through the moonlight I could see a small car from a far distance. However, once I got closer, that cat was getting bigger,” Mr. Ansur told us in the morning. “I stopped walking and stared at him. He seemed understood what I mean and walked away.”

Many people had magical power in this village. Mr. Ansur too though he was not strong enough in it. My grandma’s friend was died fighting with a white ghost tiger. He was so brave, never scared of such a creature. However, the White tiger ghost was notorious for its cruelty. He shouted the white tiger one night, but it didn’t run away. It stared at him. Both were fighting and he died.
