Vocabulary Activity for English Learners
Teaching English Vocabulary with a picture is a good method. It must be very interesting for kids. Here I want to share one of the classroom English vocabulary activities I use for my English class. My students are about 13 years old. In the first meeting, I asked them what are they going to be in the future, and most of them still didn't think about that. They still enjoy playing so much.
Show the picture to the students. Let them name those pictures in English to know whether they have already known or not. The students who already knew can help others. Mention the name of all those things, let the students repeat. Correct those who spell incorrectly. Give them time to memorize the names.
The next step, put all pictures on their desks. Give instruction to them: once you mention the name of those things, the students should show the right pictures. The students who show the wrong picture should come forward to recite poems with funny expressions.
